Loch nan Cheall
by admin on Mar.30, 2009, under Landscapes
Todays archive post is from May 2008. This is Loch Nan Cheall near Arisaig. We waited at this location for a couple of hours until after the sun went down. A very peaceful place to sit and watch the sun setting.
Bamburgh Castle Sunrise
by admin on Mar.25, 2009, under Landscapes
Todays archive post is of probably the North of Englands most photographed location, Bamburgh Castle. This huge castle is right on the beach and gives the opportunity for great sunrise pictures.
Big Sky
by admin on Mar.23, 2009, under Landscapes
Another picture from another trip to Glentrool for the sunrise. Not long after sunrise this wonderful cloud formation started to appear. For five minutes or so the sky was lit up with these wonderful golden clouds.
Sunrise in Glentrool
by admin on Mar.21, 2009, under Landscapes
Todays archive post is of one of my favourite images. This is Glentrool taken not long after the sunrise just as the early morning light started to illuminate the hills behind Loch Trool.
The Lone Tree
by admin on Mar.20, 2009, under Landscapes
Todays archive post is a mono conversion of a shot I took in 2006. This is a tree that has it’s roots in Loch Lomond.
Loch Drunkie
by admin on Mar.18, 2009, under Landscapes
Todays archive post is from 2006. Who would have guessed that there was a Loch in Scotland called Loch Drunkie. Very apt!
Three Boats
by admin on Mar.17, 2009, under Landscapes
Todays archive post is from 2007. Just after sunrise at Knapps Loch, the mist was slowly rising into the calm dawn light as I captured these three boats perfectly placed.
Beinn Ime
by admin on Mar.16, 2009, under Landscapes
Todays archive post is from 2007. This is a view looking west from the summit of Beinn Ime. This was my first Munro (summit over 3000ft) and we picked a crisp, February morning to climb it.
Dunure Castle
by admin on Mar.15, 2009, under Landscapes
Todays archive post is from 2008. This is Dunure Castle, near Ayr in Ayrshire. The rays of the setting sun highlighted the castle and cast the stone in an orange light that glowed until the sun set.
Lochwinnoch RSPB
by admin on Mar.14, 2009, under Wildlife
Todays post is from yesterday’s trip to Lochwinnoch RSPB. A few brighter spells in the morning this time meant that I could get the ISO lowered for the first time to really try the Sigma 150-500 out. Even though there wasn’t many different birds at the feeder, the ones I did capture looked sharp enough to me. The D300 isn’t really the best above ISO 800 for retaining detail in birds especially with a heavy crop, so these lower ISO images look far better than last weeks ones
