The Old Pier, Loch Etive

Todays archive shot is another classic scottish landscape location.  This is the old pier at Loch Etive.  It was taken  2 or 3 years ago, so the pier is not as complete now.  It still makes a wonderful location though.

loved the photo it is now very unique … have taken a few myself..though was wondering if you knew the old pier has been removed for forest removal …a horribel concrete one is in its place ….

Thanks for the comments James. I had heard that a concrete pier had replaced the old remains of the wooden one. I haven’t been back down that way for a while to see the concrete monstrosity for myself though.

I was there last week and the concrete pier is under construction and the road fenced off

It is a shame. Even though the old one was falling to bits, it kinda added to the charm of it.
