Archirondel Tower

I managed to get out for a sunrise one morning while on holiday.  I drove round the island to St Catherine’s Bay where this tower sits. The Archirondel Tower was built on a rocky outcrop in St Catherine’s Bay in 1792 and was used as a garrison for artillery soldiers. This red and white tower is now linked to the shore by the abandoned southern arm of St Catherine’s Breakwater.

I managed to get a couple of decent shots even though the sunrise wasn’t too good.  In fact it became better once the sun came up and started to peek through the low early morning cloud.
